Zio History

The doors opened on the 25th of September 2003 however, we were already registered on the 5th of February 2002. The Liquor Depot opened on the 24th of September 2004. The building, with a sales floor of 6400m2, was built during 1999 by Johnny Ziotopoulos. The owners of the business are Johnny Ziotopoulos, Christo Ziotopoulos and Bazil Ziotopoulos.

Zio became a member of the Independent Cash & Carry Group (ICC) with 18 other cash & carry's, to be able to provide the best prices for our committed average middle class income group customers, to be able to buy bulk or even single units. In store we also have a fresh Fruit & Vegetable Department and a Butchery.

The stock range Zio started with was 15 000 sku's, but now 7 years later has over 32 000 sku's, 3 years later. The staff has also increased from a team of 80 to a successful 220 staff members.

Social Responsibility

A yearly event, arranged by Zio, is a 10km Fun Race which is always a success with many people of the community participating. The Young Community Shapers is an event arranged annually via the ICC Group.

Aids Awareness started in the store in December 2006. Staff receive training to build their knowledge about the epidemic and therefore they can share this knowledge with the rest of the community to solve this serious problem, worldwide.

The Sales team offers a helpful hand to customers and is specialised in Traders orders. The sales team is currently standing on a total of 4424 Registered Traders including Societies & Pensioners.

Quotes, placing orders and price conformation is done through the Telesales Team.

To serve our customers and go that extra mile, Zio delivers to customers in an 250km radius from the Sasolburg area. A fleet of one 4tonner truck, three 8tonner trucks and  Mercedes vans that hold 6pallet orders allows this service to run fast and sufficiently.
